Homespun Needlework Exclusive - The Pilgrim's Guide; Betty Hodgson 1829 by 1897 Schoolhouse Samplers

Presenting the latest exclusive kit The Pilgrim’s Guide; Betty Hodgson’s Work in the 12th Year of her Age - 1829!

Betty Hodgson is a reproduction sampler from the studio of 1897 Schoolhouse Samplers. She features a stately Georgian Manor style house with lawns adorned with deer, dogs and symmetrical flowers and trees. A beautifully colored bird in the top center, a bird pair guarding the cherry trees and berry baskets overflowing with bright delicious berries. Betty’s verse is one over one, however an alternate verse has also been provided by Lianne for those who may prefer stitching over two.

Stitch Count: 282 x 289

Model Fabric: Cocoa linen by Weeks Dye Works (Zweigart base) in a selection of the following counts:

32 count - Fat Half approx. 27" x 36" (actual design size: 22.5 x 23.5 *including min. 2.5” border)
36 count - Fat Half approx. 27" x 36" (actual design size: 21 x 22 *including min. 2.5” border
40 count - Fat Half approx. 27" x 36" (actual design size: 20 x 20 *including min. 2.5” border)
46 count - Fat Quarter approx. 18" x 27" (actual design size: 18 x 18 *including min. 2.5” border)

16 count Aida Walnut Grove by Needle & Flax  – Full Yard  43” x 36” (actual design size: 22.5 x 23.5 *including min.2.5” border)

Threads: you will receive 33 beautiful skeins. You can choose the hand-dyed cotton option (a combination of Weeks Dye Works and Gentle Arts) or a silk option (Needlepoint Silks). 

The thread quantity was based on stitching with one thread.

The model was stitched with the hand dyed cottons (Weeks Dye Works and Gentle Arts) on Cocoa linen from Weeks Dye Works. The designer has chosen the Aida color as the closest match to Cocoa.

Additional thread sets are available to order during the exclusive sale period for those stitching on lower count fabrics (we cannot estimate usage beyond the stitched model quantities).

Alternate verse (stitched over two): "Tho you and I far parted be, and hills between us rise, take this I pray remember me, and on it fix your eyes."

This is a pre-order and everyone who orders this will receive the kit. We have many many kits on hand to start, and then will ship additional orders as soon as more supplies arrive.
