Vickie tells us "Although locating Caroline Alder has proven to be elusive, we can draw some clues from her detailed and vibrant 1827 sampler. Her stitches reveal an imaginative young girl who painstakingly created every brick and keystone on what must have been a rather large house with four chimneys. The sampler indicates that animals were a big part of Caroline's world."
